Baby's hunger
My baby is hungrier than usual. Is this normal?
This could be due to a growth spurt - your baby will be feeding more often to increase your supply. It’s impossible to overfeed a breastfed baby, so don’t worry too much. If your baby is six months old, they might be ready for solids, so discuss this with your healthcare professional. A healthy newborn will cry when hungry. Crying is a late hunger cue, early signs include opening the mouth and moving the head side to side; making sucking motions with the mouth and chewing or sucking on his/her hands or fingers. What are the signs of my baby not getting enough milk?
The most obvious one is that your baby is not putting on weight and not thriving. Another sign is that by the third or fourth day, your baby is not soiling at five/six disposable nappies a day. If your baby is lethargic and not feeding often, this is another sign. Babies feed 8-12 times per 24 hour period until they are around four months old. Do seek medical advice if you have any concerns about your baby’s progress. There are no user uploaded videos available.
